  1. Very interesting discussion on the Mt. Rushmore of comedy. It is difficult to compare Coen Brothers movies to comedies like Airplane. I would put movies like Raising Arizona, Big Lebowski, Dr. Strangelove, and Rushmore in my top 20 movies of all time but not if someone asked me my specific favorite comedies. I think those movies are hilarious but I also think many Tarantino movies are too. Airplane, Naked Gun, Three Amigos, will have packed theaters cracking up while the other movies are more subtle. So Coen Brothers/ Tarantino are dark comedies, Dr Strangelove is a smart comedy, Wes Anderson makes clever comedy. None of them are comedy/comedies lol. I am surprised that given the wide range of comedies, that Ferris Bueller and My Cousin Vinny didn’t receive any votes.
