Spiderman 3

May 5th, 2007 by Sam

My fellow cohort in crime has done a pretty good job of summing up why this Spiderman is not one of the betters. For myself, this is one of the most disappointing movies I have seen, considering the hype behind it. Unfortunately, I think it has fallen into some of the fallacies that the old Batman franchise hit in it's later years.

So I am not going to go on and on about how bad this movie is, just know you will leave the movie feeling unsatisfied, and also wondering why you laughed at areas in the movie that were meaning to be serious. I do want to make note that this is probably Bruce Campbell's best appearance in a Spider-man ever, and he is almost enough to save the movie. Sad that a co-actor can eclipse the spotlight from the main actors. Lastly, if this is the way the summer movies are going to be, considering all the trilogies, then count me out for the rest of the summer films.

Quick Review
Plot/Storyline
The writing was horrible. They did not take their time for development of anything, except the fact that people will see the movie because they've seen the first two. Hence the Spiderman 3 money machine.

Acting/Characters
The fact that they did not crack smiles when delievering the most ridiculous storylines ever proves these actors are seasoned beyond imagination. As for Character development, if you see the movie let me know if you think Sandman is also a robot.

Visuals/Sound
Did they just expect to hold a pretty ball up in front of us and hope we didn't notice anything about the story or movie. But some impressive visuals, plus a score that includes an orchestral sound with every look, turn of head, cocked eyebrow.

Replay
I will not see it again unless I need a good laugh, and then I will wait for it to be on TV. Hopefully they will have to edit out Peter Parker's hip thrusts. That's right, when you see the movie you will know what I mean.
