Episode 14: ‘Twilight: Eclipse,’ ‘The Last Airbender,’ ‘Cyrus,’ annoying fans, press junkets

Jeff and Eric have a lot to say not just about movies but about certain movies’ fans, in this week’s edition of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” “Eclipse” is the best of the three “Twilight” movies so far — but don’t tell that to people who hate all things “Twilight,” no matter what, always, forever! “The Last Airbender” is a stifling and terrible adaptation of a popular cartoon series — but don’t tell that to people who love the cartoon series and can’t bear the thought of the movie being bad! (“Cyrus” is good, though. Go see it.) Jeff and Eric also discuss press junkets and the whoredom therein, teen romances, and next week’s QOTW: What’s a movie you love that it seems like everyone else hates? They want new ideas for games to play, too. E-mail them at moviebspdx@gmail.com.

  1. (This is not the “Dave” that wrote the email, just another Dave who happens to also hate the theme-song)

I must admit, hearing your answer to Dave’s ultimatum made me laugh out loud. 😀

And for the record, I can’t get enough of Eric’s Old-Timey voice!

  2. i have to say, i look forward to the theme song every time i get ready to hear the show! i even do a little dance to it. It’s just so darn catchy!

  3. U guys need to make ur shows
longer or make more of them cause u guys are so funny and I hate waiting every Friday to download your podcast from I tunes

  4. Yes! In fact, make your shows longer AND more frequent! More of Eric’s Old-Timeyâ„¢ radio voice! Less of the theme song lyrics!

If our demands are not met within two days then we’ll begin executing the hostages. The hostages are puppies. Orphan puppies. And they’re all the runt of the litter. Also, they have the biggest, most doleful eyes ever. They ALL have the biggest, most doleful eyes ever and they photograph well and you can bet we’ll be sending you a picture of each one with a list of it’s unfulfilled dreams scribbled on the back.

  5. The theme song’s main problem is the length. I mean, how much of my monthly alotment of data gets used up downloading nearly a MINUTE of phrases that vaguely rhyme with Snider?? Honestly, it’s growing on me now, because I can just hum along as I wait for the show to start. The first time I heard it, it seemed interminable! I wondered if you were ever going to get started.

BTW I completely agree with the Say Anything verdict. That movie manages to feel very real and honest, plus it gave us the ever-useful, “You must chill! You must chill!”
