Pan's Labyrinth Trailer and this Friday's Releases
Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 by Brent

Click here to go to IGN who has trailer number 2 for one of my most anticipated films, Pan's Labyrinth. The preview on Yahoo Movies describes the film's plot as:
Set in 1940s Spain against the postwar repression of Franco's Spain, a fairy tale that centers on Ofelia, a lonely and dreamy child living with her mother and adoptive father, who is a military officer tasked with 'ridding the area' of rebels. In her loneliness, Ofelia creates a world filled with fantastical creatures and secret destinies. With Fascism at its height, Ofelia must come to terms with her world through a fable of her own creation
The buzz has been excellent for the film thus far. I'm really looking forward to it.
Also, it looks like the big movie releases this week are Man of the Year, The Grudge 2, and The Marine. Man of the Year looks like it might be good , the others look awful. Deliver Us from Evil is opening in select theaters and details Father Oliver O'Grady's abuse of young children during his 30 years in the Church. It looks disturbing but interesting.
So, you might see a review for Man of the Year or Deliver Us From Evil. As for The Marine, don't count on it.

My friends I am sorry for the absence. It may continue for awhile, as you have probably read, I am the proud dad of a new baby. Anya Corinne was born October 4th 2006 and I could not be happier. She is a beautiful girl and has made my life so much fuller. I may lack on the movie seeing for a while, but I will try to return maybe not in full swing, but I will work hard. For all fathers out there I am sure that you understand. Pictures will be coming soon. Also to Anya and her mommy I love you both!
300 trailer, The Departed, and a birth!

The trailer for 300 has hit the net. It's a story about the Battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 Spartan soldiers battled an invading Persian army. The film is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel based on the event. I'm pretty excited after seeing the trailer, I love some of Miller's graphic novels and I think the style looks pretty cool for the movie. Check out the trailer here.
Also, in some exciting news, Sam is now the father of a beautiful baby girl. Congratulations to him and maybe he'll post some pics of her if he feels like it.
And finally I've posted my review of The Departed which you can check out here.
