After seeing Grindhouse last weekend, I left the theater one happy cinephile. The movie was pure fun and I loved the fact that it was a double feature. You don't see many double features anymore, in fact, the last time I remember one was at a drive in when I was ten years old. It was great to go into a theater sit down and watch a couple movies, one right after the other. I love it.
However, after a weak box office weekend, the internet is full of rumors that Grindhouse might be split and the films shown separately. Although, I agree that this would allow each film to make more money, I hate the fact that this comeback of the double feature may soon disappear. I really hope it doesn't, but I have a feeling that it will. It seems that we are in a time where most film companies seem to push aside creativity in favor of what is safe and a guarantee. I hate that.
I know, it's not movie related but...

I really wanted to share it with you all anyway. My brother-in-law, Sean, works for the band Mute Math and showed me the music video for their song, Typical. I've had the opportunity to hang out with the drummer, Darren, a couple different times and he along with the rest of the band are really nice(and crazy) guys. So check out their awesome video and if you like the music, check out their cd as well.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates this past week, I've been kind of busy with work. Both Sam and I managed to post a couple reviews during the week though, so hopefully you checked them out.
This Easter weekend we have four new wide releases: Are We Done Yet?, Firehouse Dog, The Reaping, and Grindhouse.
Are We Done Yet? stars Ice Cube as a husband trying to fix up his "dream home" only to have it turn into his worst nightmare. I have no interest in this at all, but it may be a good pick for families this weekend.
Firehouse Dog tells the story of Rex, a famous Hollywood canine, who is lost and adopted as the mascot of a small town firehouse. Again, I have no interest, but looks like something kids would get a kick out of.
The Reaping stars Hilary Swank as a myth debunker who sets out to find logical answers to the Biblical plagues that are destroying a small town. I'm a fan of scary movies, but this one doesn't look all that great to me. I'll probably wait for a rental.
Grindhouse is a 3 hour, double feature by directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The films, Planet Terror and Death Proof look to recapture the feel of old grindhouse flicks, whose sex, blood, horror, and action were too outrageous for regular theaters. As many of you know, I love crazy stuff like this and since I have the day off on Friday, I plan to check it out. Look for the review sometime this weekend.
Also, I'm planning on doing a summer movie preview in the next couple of weeks, so check back for that as well.
Have a great Easter weekend.

As I was looking through the release schedule for the summer I realized that there are a lot of sequels coming out this summer for some very popular franchises. So, for the new poll, I decided to focus on those franchises that are adding their third installment to the series. So, take a look at the choices and vote for the one you are the most excited for.
