Transformers Theme Song

Sunday, June 10th, 2007 by Brent

Some of you may have remembered my post of the Typical music video for Mute Math, the band that my brother-in-law does sound for and my friend is the drummer. Well, it turns out that the band has recorded the Transformers theme which will appear on the official soundtrack for the film. Pretty cool.

I first heard about them doing this from my brother-in-law and recently came across a crappy version on the net that some were attributing to Mute Math. That is not the case though and you can head over to Mute Math's myspace page to listen to their version. And while you are there, check out some of their other material.

MovieBS now has STAR POWER!!!!!!

Monday, June 4th, 2007 by Sam

That's right friends and fans of MovieBS, we are now endorsed by none other than the one and only Paul Edward Valentine Giamatti. How do you say was I able to deliver such a feat? Well, I got really lucky that is how. Over the weekend my wife and I went to St. Louis for one of her best friends weddings. While, there I noticed Paul, and was blown away. Is it possible that they got a celebrity to come to their wedding by hiring him.

This was not the case, but as a matter of fact he was related to the groom. I could not believe my eyes, but nonetheless was struck by the star power, yet humbleness of the man himself. After working up some courage to speak to him, and getting the photography pictured below, we heard quite a few tales from the man himself.

Unknown to myself, his father was Bartlett Giamatti who at one time was president over the university of Yale. Not only that but his dad also became the commissioner of Major League Baseball, and actually ejected Pete Rose. Craziness, but the man himself was very cool and suave. Seeming to have been born with a silver tongue, when I informed him that myself and a friend had a movie review website, and asking what we could do to have it take off? Paul informed me "always innovate, once you start imitating others you become one of the crowd, that is how I try to live my life, when either choosing movie roles, or just living day to day."

Regardless the man himself was very cool, definitely an experience I will not forget. Oh yeah and the wedding was pretty nice also.

Pirates!

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007 by Brent

Hey everyone, Brent here with a small update.

As many of you know this weekend is very special, no not because Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is coming out, but because it is my 25th birthday. So send me lots of gifts! My lovely wife's birthday is tomorrow, which means it's gonna be a nonstop party! Sadly, this also means that I can't make any promises about getting a review for Pirates up. I plan to see it, maybe even as early as tomorrow, but no promises for a review up this weekend.

For those of you who listened to our Summer Movie Preview, I really think my opinion of the story in the second film will depend on the payoff in this one, so hopefully it won't disappoint. Sam said this is the film he is looking forward to the most this summer, so it will be great to see his take as well. Reviews are split right now, which is kind of a bummer, but I am hoping it can serve up the first great blockbuster of the summer.

Later party peoples.

I Believe In Harvey Dent Too!

Sunday, May 20th, 2007 by Brent

As you may all know, I am a bit of a Batman freak. I loved Batman Begins and while I was looking forward to the The Dark Knight next summer, there wasn't much for a Batfan like myself to get excited about...until now.

A couple of weeks ago on the film's offical site, the logo for the film was posted. Well, yesterday it was found that you could now click on the logo which took you to another site featuring a picture of Gotham City's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, with the slogan "I Believe In Harvey Dent" at the bottom.

Now, this alone, while not exciting for most people, is pretty cool for Batman fanatics. Little did we know, that it was gonna get even better.

Yesterday, some customers at various comic book stores in Hollywood found Joker cards hidden throughout the store with the message "I Believe In Harvey Dent Too" scribbled across it. So, sure enough, if you go to www.ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com you see the same Harvey Dent picture, but this time it has been defaced and features a form for submitting your email address.

Upon submitting your email address, users were greeted with a creepy email complete with a webpage link and what appeared to be coordinates. Clicking on the link took you to a page where you could then enter the coordinates, which removed a pixel from the Harvey Dent image, slowly revealing another image underneath it.

Since yesterday thousands of people have entered coordinates and while the picture isn't fully uncovered as of yet, we now have a pretty good idea what it's a picture of...

The Joker. Pretty freaking sweet marketing campaign in my opinion. I am now officially excited.
