Sunshine isn't playing in my area.
Luckily I have Harry Potter to entertain me.

Hey everyone, I apologize for the lack of updates and my failure to get a Harry Potter review up. I'll just say, the new movie is good and fans of the previous Harry Potter films won't be disappointed.
I also want to post really quick about a new release this week that I am looking forward too, Sunshine.
The plot summary:
"Fifty years from now, the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel."
Check out the trailer here.
In my opinion, it looks like the best new release hitting theaters this week. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry looks pretty bad to me, and while Hairspray is getting good reviews, it's not really my thing.
Expect a review of Sunshine sometime this weekend... after I'm done reading the new Harry Potter.
A Preview of What a Halo Movie Would Look Like?
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007 by Brent
So, I think it was last year when it was announced that Peter Jackson was going to be producing the Halo movie, based on the hit video game. Jackson hired little known director Neil Blomkamp for the film. A majority of Blomkamps experience came from work on various commercials and short films. Because of this, the big wigs got nervous about placing such an epic film in an rookie director's hands and the film as been in limbo ever since.
Well, last night at E3, Microsoft, Weta Studios, and Blomkamp debuted a Halo 3 short for promotion of the game that hits in September. In the video, we get a taste of what the Halo universe could be like brought to life. Check it out below:
Personally, I think it looks awesome. It reminds me of a film like Aliens, where it's futuristic, but gritty and I think Mr. Blomkamp has shown that he has a unique style that fits with the Halo universe. So, hopefully Hollywood will get it's act together and realize that a lot of us are waiting for this.

Update: The trailer is now online at apple.com
Before my viewing of Transformers on Wednesday, I was treated to a pretty cool trailer for a movie that I had never heard of and still know little about. Shot with hand held cameras, the trailer started with a group of kids at a party in New York City. While partying, they hear and feel a rumbling and go to the roof just in time to witness a large explosion in the middle of the city, followed by mass chaos in the streets. The trailer ends without naming the movie, instead it only revealed the release date, 1.18.08 and that it's produced by J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost, MI:3).
Well, after a bit of research on the net, it seems the flick is a top secret monster movie called Cloverfield. Not much is known other than that, but man, after that trailer, I can't wait to see it. Did any of you happen to see it? What did you think?
