Top Ten Films of 2006

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 by Brent

With the Oscars taking place this past weekend, I decided I should post my favorite films released in 2006. The following films, I feel, were some of the best from last year. Actually ranking them is somewhat difficult, as they are all different from each other, so take that into account. And now, my top ten favorite films from 2006!

1. The Departed
2. Pan's Labyrinth
3. United 93
4. Little Miss Sunshine
5. Children of Men
6. Borat
7. Casino Royale
8. V for Vendetta
9. The Prestige
10. Apocalypto

Another Apology and the Oscars!

Monday, February 26th, 2007 by Brent

Well, I'm sorry. As you may have noticed, there is not a new review up and I didn't see one of the three new releases that I mentioned in my last post. I had fully intended to see The Number 23, but I heard it was terrible which made it hard to spend the cash to see it. So, once again I am sorry for the lack of reviews, but it will change in the coming weeks!

As for the Oscars, the show was okay. I didn't watch the entire thing, but in terms of the winners, I thought they were all pretty correct. I loved The Departed, so it was nice to see it get some recognition, as well as Scorsese finally winning for best director. I wish they could revitalize the actually show though, because it stinks.

Also, I've been changing the site around, so if links become broken or certain pages display weird, please send me an email and let me know so I can fix them.

Peace out.

Apology and new releases!

Hey everyone, I want to apologize for the lack of reviews around here. Since Sam and myself do this for fun, we are pretty selective about which films we review and we have to be pretty interested to lay down the cash. And lately, there just hasn't been very appealing films at the theaters.

This weekend that is going to change though! The big releases this week are The Astronaut Farmer, The Number 23, and Reno 911: Miami. I will definitely review one of these this weekend and it will most likely be The Number 23. So check back later this weekend for a review on that.

In other news, I've been thinking that the site needs a better design and I plan to start that sometime this weekend as well. The content will all be the same, but I want something more visually appealing, so that's something to look forward to...for me anyway, most of you probably don't care.

And finally, I did rent Jesus Camp last week and thought about writing a review, but ultimately decided that I would drag too many other thoughts and rants into the review as opposed to actually reviewing the film. All I'll say is this, Jesus Camp is categorized as a documentary, but I think it would also fit well in the horror genre because it truly terrified me.

That's all folks.
